Middle Class Picnic

written and directed by Haeryun Kang

A group of middle class intellectuals share a picnic by the Han River in Seoul, chatting about social justice over a charcuterie board. While drinking tea in her sunlit room with plants and vintage furniture, the director of the film struggles to make this scene into what she hopes sounds like a clever commentary on class hypocrisy and privilege. An awkward black-comedy hybrid of fiction and documentary.

Written and directed by Haeryun Kang. Currently in post-production.
